I was surfing the internet and came across a classic site, Dumb laws.
Inspired by hurricane Katrinas wipe out of New Orleans I remembered reading that in New Orleans it is illegal to tie an alligator to a fire hydrant, thinking that it may not such a dumb law after all, considering.
In my search for the alligator / fire hydrant law I fell upon several laws, in different states, concerning fire men and fire hydrants.
South Carolina (Charleston): “The fire department may blow up your house” (Comforting to know!)
Wisconsin: “It is illegal to wake up a fireman when he is asleep” (Remember to put the firealarm on mute)
Pennsylvania (Danville): “All fire hydrants must be checked on one hour before fires” (???????????)
Iowa (Fort Madison): “The fire department is required to practice fire fighting for fifteen minutes before attending a fire” ( Practice makes perfekt!)
Conneticut (New Britain): ” It is illegal for fire trucks to exceed 25mph, even when going to a fire” (Hurrying slowly??)
Iowa (Marshall town): ” Horses are forbidden to eat fire hydrants” ( Why would they even try?)
Good thing the laws are spread out over different states. Imagine if they were all from one state and your house was on fire.
Have a nice day
