Gazing into a shelf cloud seconds before the real fun began with thunder, lightning, gusting winds and all kinds of  afternoon entertainment…

Green and yellow meet on a lovely spring day.

I’m still trying to improve my skills in black and white, although I have a feeling that this one just might be better in colour.. Taken after sunset with an exposure of a few seconds to smooth out the water (thanks mr,. duck for standing still).

Fooling around with B&W and textures. Nothing special, but given it’s my first post in more than two months I’m not complaining.

This is the same mound that I posted a shot of a couple of weeks ago. As I mentioned then, I pass it every day on the way to work. On this occasion I intitially dismissed shooting it again because I already had shot it. But suddenly I changed my mind. Why? Simple really, almost everything had changed. Fresh snow had erased all details in the field, there was now snow on the trees and bushes and the sky had wonderful tones with a darkish band running through the central area. Well worth photographing, I think.

It’s hip to be square – I saw this in a garden and thought that the skeleton like structure would have a nice graphic feel in black and white.

Boy, it’s cold around here…

It looks like winter has decided to stay for a while. I found this view not far from home and do not have much to say about it, except that I liked the dark posts against the ice. I wonder why there is an almost perfect circle around the posts?

One more with birds and branches. I wondered what it would look like if there were different levels of sharpness (or blur depending on how you look at it) in the picture. I pointed the camera up and saw rooks  darting through the frame. This is the one that turned out best.
