More tracks, but this time as part of a larger scene.

I don’t know what kind of bird walked here, but the tracks it left behind were perfect for this shot…

Cool, huh? My guess is that during a short-lived thaw, a gull walked across the ice which had turned ever so slightly soft. Then it started freezing again and the tracks froze. It made me think of fossilized dinosaur tracks.

This is the same mound that I posted a shot of a couple of weeks ago. As I mentioned then, I pass it every day on the way to work. On this occasion I intitially dismissed shooting it again because I already had shot it. But suddenly I changed my mind. Why? Simple really, almost everything had changed. Fresh snow had erased all details in the field, there was now snow on the trees and bushes and the sky had wonderful tones with a darkish band running through the central area. Well worth photographing, I think.

It’s hip to be square – I saw this in a garden and thought that the skeleton like structure would have a nice graphic feel in black and white.

It looks like winter has decided to stay for a while. I found this view not far from home and do not have much to say about it, except that I liked the dark posts against the ice. I wonder why there is an almost perfect circle around the posts?
