Boat number unknown

I hope I'm not boring you all with yet a boat in black and white, but this one has been begging to be posted all day. How could I refuse, so here it is, the final boat on misty lake for now. I'm not sure it's as strong an image as the previous two but it was good b&w practise while it lasted. Getting the most out of the available tonal range is a big challenge - but it is also fun. I wonder when I'm going to post a colour shot again....

  • Keep them coming. They are great little gems.

  • Well, compared to your two other photos of the boat, I consider this the best one. The setting seems more harmonic and the "free" misty space on the left and the reflection of the trees gives a good overall balance. Nice work.

  • I'm still shocked by the great quality of work you produce with a G3.

    Another great one.

    Cheers,

  • Well... we like the boat series. This one is great again and with perfect contrast and lighting.

  • I would say the second is the best one; it's only my opinion :-) It seems like the conditions were great for shooting that day :-p

  • WOW... your following the KISS format. Keep It Simple Stupid. Great picture

  • I like the subtle tree-line featured in the top of the frame... really adds to the reflected composition.

  • a wonderful shot - i love the black and white treatment here.

  • Another terrific shot. You really do have a way with the minimalist compositions and B&W tones. This rivals the first boat shot in the series. Beautiful.

  • Such a strong image.
