Venus over moored boats

Venus over moored boats

Finally a post that isn't untitled, thank God. It is a 30 second exposure which has smoothed out the waves quite nicely, but I was slightly surprised to notice that Venus had moved enough to register more as a smudged line than a clear dot. I also think it's time to start an accessory wish list because a cable release that would allow me to make even longer exposures might be fun. Or is there a nifty gadget out there that I have overlooked? Thanks for the recent comments, by the way. I'm still trying to get my own commenting back into gear, but with the number of sites I visit now it is becoming increasingly difficult to leave as many comments as I would like.

  • It is a very calming shot. The first thing I thought when I saw it was "Is that Venus?" Then read your description.

  • A cable release is an essential especially the one where you just dial in the exposure you want in either hours/mins/secs. Smooth tones again and I like the movement of the boats.
